Arlington County Public Health is now offering COVID-19 vaccine boosters for the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to certain people by appointment only.

If you are eligible, you can receive a booster dose wherever vaccines are available. Now that there are booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States—Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson—eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose.

As we wait for final guidance from CDC and Virginia Department of Health, Arlington County continues to plan for the expansion of vaccine availability for children 5 to 11 years of age. Once approved, Arlington County anticipates holding clinics and scheduling vaccinations by appointment, hopefully by mid-November. At this time, it is unclear how many doses Arlington County Public Health will receive directly, so availability may be limited.

Nearly 80% (79.7%) of eligible residents in Arlington County have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 72% are fully vaccinated.
Virginia now ranks 10th among all states for the percentage of its population fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and for the total number of shots administered.
