Arlington County Treasurer’s Office

Real Estate & Car Taxes
Are Due
October 5

October 5 is the due date for both car taxes and the second installment of real estate taxes.  Vehicle personal property tax bills were mailed in August.

If you have moved or sold your car, you may still owe taxes for the months in 2021 when your car was located in Arlington. Your car tax bill shows when your account was opened or closed, so please check it for accuracy. To report changes in vehicle ownership or location, please call the Commissioner of Revenue at 703-228-3135 (Option 0) or e-mail vehicle@arlingtonva.us.

If you are waiting for your account to be adjusted, please be sure to avoid a late payment penalty by paying your bill in full by October 5.  Any overpayment will be refunded to you once your account has been adjusted.
