Lubber Run Community Center Update

Good Day,

We’re writing to inform you of a few important upcoming dates for the new Lubber Run Community Center. After opening the park in fall 2020, and now that the vaccination clinic has ended, it’s time to prepare to open the new center!

• First, on Sat., June 12 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. the Department of Parks and Recreation will host Submission Saturday at the Lubber Run customer service desk. Submission Saturday is an opportunity to turn in necessary forms before the start of summer camp. Free parking is available in the garage (enter from N. Park St.).
• Next, starting on Mon., June 21, the customer service desk will begin summer operating hours between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Our team will be available to accept forms in-person for summer camp, fee reductions, facility rentals and program and class registrations. We continue to do business online, on the phone at 703-228-4747, and you can email us at registration@arlingtonva.us.
• On Tue., July 6, the new center will fully open for first time! Come by the gym, fitness center and indoor track. Fitness memberships are required. Indoor programming, such as the senior center and preschool, will return this fall.
• Summer hours for the center will be 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Mon., – Fri., and 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sat. This fall, the center will be open later, and on Sundays too.

Shortly after the facility opens, we will host a ribbon cutting and community celebration. More information on this is forthcoming.
