Rec on wheels

We're Bring the Fun to You this Summer!  

Unwind and join us for an evening of fun activities in the park with Rec on Wheels this summer! During the first hour we'll get creative with exciting arts and crafts projects, then you can get your wiggles out before bedtime with active movement games during the second hour.  

 

Rec on Wheels runs June 22-Aug. 12 from 6-8 p.m. Check out locations and dates below.

Free Trees Planted on Private Property in Arlington 

Get a free tree through EcoAction Arlington's Tree Canopy Fund. These canopy trees are generally two inches in trunk width and seven feet tall. Apply online by Fri., June 25. Applicants will be notified in advance and trees will be planted by a contractor in fall 2021. Learn more about the Tree Canopy Fund Program


Come by the new Lubber Run Community Center this Sat., June 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Submission Saturday to submit necessary paperwork prior to the beginning of summer camp on June 21.

Dance Your Heart Out With Us! 

Enjoy a free intergenerational dance party every Monday through June 28 from 4-5:30 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson ParkLearn the basics of salsa, merengue, bachata and cumbia -- the four most popular Latin dance styles. Anyone between the ages of 10 and 100 will be showing their moves. Join in the fun. Sign up here.

Free, Easy COVID-19 Vaccines Now! 

In addition to scheduled vaccine appointments, Arlington has walk in-vaccine clinics with no appointments required. And they are open to all—not just Arlington residents. The schedule will rotate weekly—check out this week’s clinic schedule here.

Bon Air is Blooming!

Come on out to Bon Air Park to check out all the blooming roses in the park's Memorial Rose Garden! New in 2021: A 10-foot arbor, three beautiful obelisks and over 150 additional rose bushes, including five colorful new varieties. Psst…it’s National Rose Month.

Help our Thirsty Trees   

It’s getting hot out there. Arlington residents can now help Arlington County's trees thrive through dry weather by participating in the County’s Adopt-A-Tree program. Trees can be adopted wherever there is access to water, such as street trees in front of homes. Help us keep trees healthy and strong to grow our tree canopy. Learn more and sign up here.
