Following a thorough safety review, the FDA and the CDC have determined that the recommended pause regarding the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine in the U.S. should be lifted and use of the vaccine should resume.
As part of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), Arlington County Public health will follow that guidance and will resume administering the J&J vaccine immediately.

As of April 24, the Arlington County Public Health Division (ACPHD) has used 85.20% of first doses received.
- 64,301 first doses administered (of 75,469 first doses received)*
- 38,004 second doses administered
- In total, the Arlington County Public Health Division has administered over 102,000 COVID-19 vaccine does
To date in Arlington County, a total of 160,017 doses have been administered, and over 64,000 people are fully vaccinated, according to VDH's Vaccine Summary Dashboard.
*Note: The 10,500 Johnson & Johnson doses being held in reserve are counted in the first doses received
