In this newest edition of COVID-19 Vaccine Q&A, Arlington County Public Health's Public Information Officer (PIO) Jessica Baxter answers some of your questions about the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine:
- What's going on with the J&J vaccine?
- Should I be concerned if I already received the J&J vaccine?
- What if I have a vaccine appointment scheduled this week for the J&J vaccine?
Arlington County is currently in Phase 1c of vaccinations, but next week we'll be moving to Phase 2, meaning any resident 16 years and older will be eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Those at highest risk will continue to receive priority in the scheduling process. Everyone should continue to visit vaccinate.virginia.gov or call 877-VAX-IN-VA to get vaccinated.
Anyone eligible can access the CDC’s VaccineFinder website, which allows you to search the map-based site for appointments at pharmacies near you. (Pharmacies may expand to Phase 2 on April 18.)
With nearly 5 million doses of vaccine administered so far in Virginia, almost half of all adults have received at least one dose and one in four adults are fully vaccinated.
In Arlington County, approximately 121,000 doses have been administered, and more than 45,000 residents are fully vaccinated.
