Statement on the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Pause

Following the CDC and FDA recommendation, out of an abundance of caution, Arlington County has paused Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccinations at the County’s public health clinics.

Everyone with appointments through Sunday, April 18, at the Lubber Run Community Center (where J&J was being administered), has been sent an email, informing them appointments will be honored at the originally scheduled date, time and location, with either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.

"Everyone who signed up for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at Lubber Run through Sunday has an mRNA vaccine waiting for them if they choose to keep their appointment. We are encouraging everyone to do that." - Dr. Reuben Varghese, Public Health Director
