Arlington Begins Vaccine Appointments for Ages 65+

Starting Friday, Feb. 12, Arlington County will begin scheduling vaccine appointments for residents 65+ who have pre-registered with Public Health Division.

Notification emails will be issued in groups in approximately the order of pre-registration, in accordance with Virginia Department of Health guidance. Emails will come from arlingtonva[at]public.govdelivery.com.

Approximately 10,000 residents between the age of 65-74 are pre-registered. We ask for your patience as we work to schedule this large group as quickly as vaccine supply will allow. Currently, the County is receiving 2,750 doses of vaccine per week, and we are continuing to vaccinate essential employee groups and other eligible residents, as directed by the Governor.

If you are unable to schedule an appointment or if all appointments are full, please check back. We will add appointments as vaccines are allocated.

We appreciate your patience as we work urgently on this critical challenge.

Virginia to Launch Vaccine Preregistration System

Gov. Ralph Northam announced today that the Commonwealth is launching a Statewide Vaccine Preregistration System to provide a unified and comprehensive process for people in Virginia to preregister for the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, a new 1-877 statewide Vaccine information number will be released next week.

The Virginia Department of Health is working with each of the local health districts to transition to transition to the new statewide vaccine preregistration system. As such, the Arlington vaccine preregistration forms will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12. The state’s system will go live at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Preregistration will be temporarily unavailable.

Everyone already preregistered through Arlington’s system will be imported to the state’s system. If you already preregistered through the County or through your employer, you will not need to submit your information again. You will maintain your current status in the queue and will be able to search that you are in the new system starting Tuesday morning.
