This week, CVS announced a partnership with the CDC to increase vaccination supply to the public.
We have been informed that one CVS location in Arlington County will be providing COVID-19 vaccine. However, this opportunity to receive a vaccine from CVS is completely independent of the Arlington County Public Health vaccination process.
CVS is working directly with the federal government; Arlington County has not been involved and does not have oversight of the CVS vaccination effort. More info at the Virginia Department of Health.
Masks are an additional step to help prevent people from getting and spreading COVID-19. When we all wear masks, we take care of each other and everyone is protected. Take these 4 steps for the most protection:
- Wear masks
- Stay 6 feet apart
- Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated places
- Wash your hands
As of Feb. 6, the Arlington County Public Health Division (ACPHD) has used 89.14%* of the first doses it has received.
-
11,425 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine received
-
10,184 doses administered
- *ACPHD unexpectedly received an early shipment of 800 first doses late last week, which are part of the supply allocated for this week. That lowered our percentage utilized from 95.85% to 89.14%.
To date in Virginia, 1,609,675 vaccine doses have been received, and 87.3% of those doses have been administered.
