National Environmental Survey (NES)

Members of the Arlington Community Concerned About Airport Noise,

 

We wanted to let you know that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is holding a briefing on the results of its Neighborhood Environmental Survey (NES), a nationwide survey regarding annoyance related to aircraft noise. The briefing is primarily for members of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Community Working Group (CWG) on airport noise at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) but is open to the public.

Questions for the FAA

Although the event is open to the public, per the FAA during the Q&A period questions will only be taken from CWG members.

  • If you have a question you want posed to the FAA, please email your question to rroisman@arlingtonva.us no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16.

Please note that due to time limits on the event and anticipated questions from other CWG members, County staff cannot guarantee that all community member questions will be able to be forwarded to the FAA for a response.

 

Please also note the per the FAA, questions asked and answered during the event are not considered part of the public comment record for the NES results. Community members wishing to submit a formal public comment should do so by March 15 using the Federal Register notice and link previously posted to the County’s Airport Noise Page.
