Welcome back to another week RECreate at Home! We hope you've had a safe and fun weekend! Here are some fun options for you to consider doing this week. 

 


Let's Play: Virtual Pictionary 

Kids 8-11, wanna play a nature-themed, virtual version of Pictionary with other nature-loving kids on Thurs., May 21 from 1-1:30. Sound fun?  We think so. To join the Zoom Virtual Pictionary, email Park Naturalist Madeline Koenig  The first 15 people to email Madeline will get to participate.

Young children love to practice grown-up skills and pouring is one they rarely get to try due to the 99% probability it will spill and cause a disaster! Practice makes perfect, right? Gather a few supplies for your child to safely practice and say “yes” to the mess! Click here for full instructions.

DIY Air Fort

Forts are childhood magic. Everything looks, tastes, sounds and feels better under a blanket dome! Click here for a step by step guide to making an Air Fort. All you'll need is the biggest sheet you can find, packing tape and a fan.(Note to Self: Never leave your child unattended with a running fan.)

Craft Stick Catapult

Here's a good excuse to eat a lot of popsicles all in the name of STEM exploration, right? How about making a popsicle stick catapult! Just follow these instructions to help your little one engineer and use a simple catapult. There are many things to practice or learn through this easy project: counting sticks, trial and error with construction, fine motor skills for stretching rubber bands, the physics concepts in making a simple machines, and more. The best part for sure is experimenting with all things that will fling!
