Join us next week to learn more about Arlington County’s efforts to update and modernize its zoning regulations for elder care housing. “Elder care” encompasses assisted living facilities, nursing homes, memory care, independent living, as well as facilities which offer multiple types of elder care within the same building or campus.

Currently, Arlington’s zoning regulations strictly limit where new assisted living facilities and nursing homes can be built. One of the central goals of the County’s zoning update will be to permit elder care housing in additional zoning districts that already allow multifamily residential and commercial/mixed use development.
