Help Us Develop the Conceptual Design for Upper Bluemont Park!

Join us at the first community meeting for the Upper Bluemont Park Conceptional Design project on Wed., Oct. 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Ashlawn Elementary in the multi-purpose room.

 

This Parks Maintenance Capital project will address the tennis courts, lighting, restroom/storage, shelter, parking lot, adjoining section of Four Mile Run Trail, site furnishings, walkways, ADA improvements, drainage and landscaping. Funding to construct the project will come from an upcoming Capital Improvement Plan.

 

In June and July, we started reaching out to the community to see how they use the courts, parking, shelter, etc. at Bluemont. The public was invited to share their experiences at Bluemont via an online questionnaire, in-person canvassing at the 2019 Arlington County Fair and at parks and tennis courts around the area. Here is what we learned.
