Met Park Phases 6-8 Community Meeting July 10

Arlington County will hold an introductory community meeting to kick off the review process for the proposed Met Park Phases 6-8 site plan, which is the location for Amazon’s first phase of new development in the County. Interested stakeholders and community members will receive information about the proposed development, planning background, and an explanation of how the review process will work. Staff from various County departments along with the applicant will be available to answer questions.

Housing Conservation District Community-wide Event June 20

Join us to learn more about the Housing Conservation District (HCD), a special planning district designated on the General Land Use Plan encompassing 12 multi-family areas around the County. The major goals of the HCD are to:

  • encourage the retention of multifamily character
  • preserve housing affordability, and
  • broaden the types of housing available to households across the income spectrum.

Staff will share information found in the recently published HCD Update Report, present background on the HCD and the Housing Arlington umbrella initiative which includes HCD, and lead a community conversation on the proposed zoning and financial tools discussed in the HCD Update Report.

Fee Adjustments Go Into Effect July 1

The FY2020 budget adopted by the County Board includes adjustments to the following fees, which will go into effect on July 1, 2019.

In addition, as part of the adoption of the FY19 budget last year, the County Board approved a 5% increase in the Automation Enhancement Fee to go into effect as part of Phase I of Permit Arlington.

The fee schedules will be updated accordingly.
