Traffic Alert: Weekend and weeknight street closures in Ballston area for bridge installation

Work to complete assembly of the new Ballston Quarter pedestrian bridge will require additional street closures this weekend and then continuing during weeknights for the next 16 weeks.

This weekend

Beginning tonight at 8 pm, Wilson Boulevard between North Randolph and North Stuart Streets, in front of Ballston Quarter, will be closed through Sunday, March 3 at 6 pm.

Vehicles will be detoured around the closure. Pedestrians will not be allowed to use sidewalks along Wilson Boulevard between North Randolph and North Stuart Streets during this work.

Starting next week

Beginning Monday, March 4, the eastbound lanes on Wilson Boulevard in front of Ballston Quarter will be closed overnight on weekdays, from 8 pm to 6 am, to install glass along the bridge.

The eastbound weeknight closures will last 8 weeks, followed by 8 weeks of weeknight closures of the westbound lanes.

Arlington Transit bus routes will need to detour. Visit the ART website for details.
