Amazon announced it has chosen Arlington County to establish a major new headquarters, located in newly-branded National Landing. Amazon will invest more than $2.5 billion and create more than 25,000 jobs over the next 12 years. The announcement also includes news of a new partnership with Virginia Tech to develop a revolutionary Innovation Campus. Schools: Arlington Public Schools will have access to new resources related to computer science education. Additionally, like the County, APS will benefit from increased tax revenues.
- Transportation: Arlington and Alexandria are investing $570 million in transportation projects, and the Commonwealth will invest up to $195 million to improve mobility in the region. Among the improvements: an additional entrance to the Crystal City Metro station and a south entrance to the new Potomac Yard Metro station. Read more in the release.

Housing: Both Arlington and Alexandria will fund affordable housing, workforce housing and public infrastructure, bolstered by revenues generated from Amazon’s new presence in their communities.
