Friday, October 5, is the due date for both vehicle personal property taxes and the second installment of real estate taxes.
Vehicle personal property tax bills were mailed in August. Check the back of your bill for your new decal, which is yellow this year. If you did not receive a decal on the back of your bill, find out why. New decals must be displayed by November 15. There is a new location for your decal on the windshield; watch a video here.
If you have moved or sold your car, you may still owe taxes for the months in 2018 when your car was located in Arlington. Your car tax bill shows when your account was opened or closed, so please check it for accuracy. To report changes in vehicle ownership or location, visit the Commissioner of Revenue's webpage or contact them by phone at 703-228-3135.
If you are waiting for your account to be adjusted, please be sure to avoid a late payment penalty by paying your bill in full by October 5. Any overpayment will be refunded to you once your account has been adjusted.
Parking in the 2100 Clarendon Blvd. garage is limited, so we strongly encourage you to pay online. Read about other payment options here.
The Taxpayer Assistance Program (TAP) helps Arlington residents meet their tax obligations. Read here to learn how to apply.
