What’s Happening?

Arlington County is currently developing design features for improvements to the dog park at Benjamin Banneker Park. Let us know what is important to you or "Fido" by reviewing a conceptual design with feature options.

Come out on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 7 p.m. for a meeting with design staff to review the concept and feature options for the new dog park at Benjamin Banneker Park. We will be meeting at Tuckahoe Elementary School, located at 6550 26th St N.

Not able to attend the in-person meeting? Visit the Benjamin Banneker Park project page here and sign up for updates. Materials shared at the meeting will be available and periodically we will also place comments and input received from the public through online feedback. There will also be an opportunity to weigh in on the concept and feature options.

The Benjamin Banneker Park Dog Park is one component of Benjamin Banneker Park Planning and Design Project, which includes Capital Maintenance replacement/renovations of existing park amenities (parking, circulation, dog park, athletic field, and playground). The project also includes redesign and construction of  the segment of the Four Mile Run and W&OD multi-purpose trail that runs through the park.

Development of overall park concepts to provide long-term planning guidance for the most recently acquired parcels along 18th Street North for incorporation into the park and related future improvements have been completed.
