Paid & Volunteer Summer Positions

Spend the summer with us! Camp Counselors are needed for different ages and abilities with activities like arts, gymnastics and more. Additional summer positions include Park Ranger Aide and Junior Park Assistant. We hire camp volunteers as young as 13 (as of May 1, 2018).

Wild Turkey on the Loose

Spotted: a gobbler wandering around Rosslyn. We've known wild turkeys were along the Potomac, but in Rosslyn? Really? Looks like our environmental stewardship is working! Thanks to our Natural Resources team and the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, our gobbler friend is home safe in his natural environment. (That's him on the left in transport.)

Saturdays are for Crafting

This will be sew cool! Make a book for free. Join a Second Saturday Crafternoon Workshop April 14 at Fairlington Community Center Art Studio. Drop-in anytime 1:30-3:30 p.m.

First Flowers Campfire

The whole family is invited to ring in spring at the Gulf Branch fire ring for stories, live animal guests, games and of course, S'mores! Register for $5 and meet us Saturday, Apr. 14, 7-8 p.m.

Parents, take the night off Fri., April 13, 6-10 p.m. Drop off your child at Walter Reed Communtiy Center for an evening of games, art and fun. Register for just $25 per child (ages 4-11).

Go Green for Earth Day

Did you know that in the last year we propagated 5,600 native plants in Parks & Recreation's native plant nursery? Celebrate the earth by exploring fun facts about Arlington's green initiative. Even better, visit one of Arlington's farmers markets...got new spring hours! (Save the Date: Arlington Mill's Farmers Market grand re-opening is Sat., May 5).

Arlington Gymnastics Open Try-outs

Become an Arlington Aerial or Tiger. Open try-outs for the Arlington Gymnastics girls and boys competitive teams will take place at Barcroft during April and May for kids ages 4 and older. Explore the details here.
