Construction Update: Long Bridge Drive

Construction is proceeding ahead of schedule for the Long Bridge Drive street improvements project. Realignment of Long Bridge Drive in advance of the I-395/Boundary Channel Drive interchange project is complete, including the construction of new curb and gutter, sidewalks, streetlights, and underground utilities.
The contractor will begin final paving of the newly aligned street during the week of March 26, weather permitting. Installation of signs and pavement markings will follow paving in April.
Landscaping and street tree planting will no longer be done by this project. These elements have been incorporated into the design of the adjacent aquatics center project. As a result, the plantings are now anticipated to be done in either spring or fall 2020.
