Chinese New Year Exploration @ Long Branch

Meet live animals and make dragon crafts, then take a short hike with our paper popper “firecrackers” to chase away the Chinese New Year’s beast Nian! Celebrate the New Year with us and your family (ages 3+) Fri., Feb. 16, 6-7:30 p.m. at Long Branch Nature Center. Don't forget to register ($7 per person) before you come!

Save the Date for Preschool Registration

Give your 3-5 year old their first social group experience outside the home in our half-day Creative Preschool offered at five different Arlington locations! We emphasize being part of a group, cooperating, listening, sharing, developing play and movement skills and discovering nature September through May, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Registration opens on Tues., Feb. 20 for returning families (returning students get a 20% discount...unless you have additional need...we do not want fees to be a barrier!) and Tues., Feb. 27 online at 10 a.m. for new preschoolers.

No School March 2? No Problem!

Teens: DJ and Mix Music With Us!

Want to become the next big DJ or create songs to top the charts? Thomas Jefferson Community Center is the place for you. Our free drop-in DJ'ing class teaches the fundamentals of being a DJ sharpening up your music theory in addition to mixing and scratching on Tuesdays and Fridays, 3:30-6 p.m. You can also learn (again, for free!) the basic skills needed to create beats using a computer in our Digital Music Production class Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4-6 p.m.
