Example of a protected bike lane
Between North Oak and North Quinn Streets
During the next couple weeks, the County will install a protected bike lane on Wilson Boulevard between North Oak and North Quinn Streets.
A protected bike lane, also known as a separated bike lane, is a designated lane for cyclists that is located within or adjacent to the roadway and is physically separated from vehicle traffic. This improvement helps ensure the continued safety of cyclists and drivers.
Visit Bike Arlington for more information on bike lanes. If you have questions about this work, contact the Customer Call Center at 703-228-6570.
What to expect during bike lane installation:
- Temporary “No Parking” signs will be posted on the street. Once signs are posted, the street must be cleared of all parked vehicles by parking in a garage, driveway or on an adjoining street.
- If your vehicle is towed, contact the Arlington County Police Department at 703-558-2222.
Once the bike lane is completed, there will be no change to the number of on-street parking spaces in this area.
