Metro's SafeTrack Work Starts Tomorrow

Construction Updates

ART Bus Facility

Crews continue to prepare new sidewalk and roadway features on South Eads Street – please be aware of minor delays in this area during daily commutes.

Assembly of the building's structural steel is complete. The contractor is now laying down the base structure for the roof. Visit project page

Crystal City Multimodal Center

This week the contractor completed reconstructing the sidewalk and curb and gutter areas on the westbound side of 18th Street. The westbound sidewalk is scheduled for reopening by the end of next week. Visit project page

Detours/Lane Closures 

The following lane closures are due to project construction:

18th Street South under Route 1 overpass

Eastbound:

• Outside lanes are open with some restrictions based on day-to-day construction activities.
• No striped bike lanes at this time but traffic lanes are open to cyclists - Use caution due to uneven surfaces and bus traffic at the active bus bays.
• Sidewalk is open.

Westbound:

• Traffic is one lane, which is shared with cyclists and motor vehicles.
• Sidewalk is closed.

 
South Eads Street

• From 31st Street to Glebe Road, the sidewalk along the east side is temporarily closed, but the bike lane remains open.
