Last week, the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center was honored for the second consecutive year with the VA Sustainability Achievement Award in the category of renewable energy.  To support the federal government’s initiative to “go green”, Facility Management Service (FMS) architect Sam Powell and engineer Ted Gross developed plans for a solar-powered charging station for the medical center’s fleet of electric vehicles.  Completely carbon neutral, the solar-based energy would maximize the benefits of alternative fuel.  To read the full article on this achievement, visit the Martinsburg VA Medical Center's website at www.martinsburg.va.gov.
