Tucson VA Hosts Local National Creative Arts Festival Competition
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) was thrilled to host the local level of the National Creative Arts Festival competition, August 14-15, highlighting the artistic talents of our Veteran patients.
You can visit The Catalyst Creative Collective's gallery at 4500 North Oracle Road, Suite 110, Tucson, AZ 85705, to view the Tucson VA Creative Arts Festival first place entries. The creative arts display will close on Friday, September 26.

Volunteers Opportunities Available
Volunteer Driver Program
Make a Difference as a Volunteer Driver!
In the past year, our amazing DAV volunteer drivers provided over 1,049 rides for Veterans.
We are seeking more volunteer drivers around Sierra Vista, Casa Grande, and Yuma to help transport Veterans to their medical appointments in Tucson.

Volunteer Visitors Program
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System seeks volunteers to visit homebound and isolated Veterans. As a Volunteer Visitor, you'll provide social interaction without any hands-on care, giving caregivers a needed break. Activities include conversations, art, games, walks, gardening, and hobbies. Initial registration requires trips to Tucson VA Medical Center; ongoing assignments will be near the volunteer's residence. The flexible schedule averages 1-4 hours per week.

2025 Military Veterans and Families Resource Fair
The Gila Valley Veteran Veteran Services is hosting the 2025 Military Veteran and Families Resource Fair on Friday, September 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Graham County Fairgrounds on located at US Hwy 191, Safford, AZ.
There will be several resources on hand providing information for Veterans, their families, and caregivers. Lunch will be provided.
16th Gathering of American Indian Veterans
 Join us for the 16th Gathering of American Indian Veterans on Saturday, September 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Casio Del Sol Conference Center at 5655 W. Valencia Rd. Tucson AZ, 85757.
There will be several VA and Community Resources on hand providing information to Veterans, their families, and caregivers.

POW/MIA 24-Hour Vigil Run at Davis Monthan Air Force Base
Davis Monthan Air Force Base is hosting a POW/MIA 24 Hour Vigil Run starting on Thursday, September 18 at 3:00 p.m. to Friday, September 19 to 3:00 p.m. The run is open to anyone with base access.
Water will be for the runners. Following the run, participants are encouraged to attend the POW/MIA ceremony at the Pima Air and Space Museum.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day
 Join us on Friday, September 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pima Air and Space Museum, located at 6000 E. Valencia Rd., for a POW/MIA Ceremony.
In collaboration with Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, we will honor those who were former Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action.
