At VA, we’re prioritizing the well-being of Veterans by addressing their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. Join us by applying VA’s Whole Health care model to your Veteran patients. Whole Health leverages connecting to purpose, complementary and integrative health services, and self-care alongside conventional treatments.

Whole Health Makes a Difference
Studies show that a Whole Health approach helps Veterans manage chronic conditions. This includes decreased opioid use, improvements in controlling high blood pressure and managing diabetes, and quitting smoking for good. It’s also shown to improve perceived psychological well-being and reduce depression symptoms and anxiety.

Applying Whole Health to Your Practice
Whole Health is a cultural shift in medicine from addressing symptoms and diseases to facilitating a healing process driven by what matters to the patient. It involves educating your Veteran patients about their health conditions, providing conventional and complementary and integrative health (CIH) care, and introducing self-care strategies.
