Preparing for natural disasters
As natural disaster season approaches, now is the time to prepare for evacuations, financial challenges, an increase in scams and impacts to mental or physical health services. While it may feel overwhelming, VA wants Veterans to be prepared to navigate the challenges resulting from extreme weather.

CBT Menopause Therapy Group
The Cognitive-Behavioral Group (CBT) Menopause Therapy Group will start on Monday, September 15!
The group offers support at any stage on perimenopause or menopause. The purpose of the group is to offer support, coping mechanisms and, therapeutic options.

Volunteer Driver Program
Make a Difference as a Volunteer Driver!
In the past year, our amazing DAV volunteer drivers provided over 1,049 rides for Veterans.
We are seeking more volunteer drivers around Sierra Vista, Casa Grande, and Yuma to help transport Veterans to their medical appointments in Tucson.

Volunteer Visitors Program
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System seeks volunteers to visit homebound and isolated Veterans. As a Volunteer Visitor, you'll provide social interaction without any hands-on care, giving caregivers a needed break. Activities include conversations, art, games, walks, gardening, and hobbies. Initial registration requires trips to Tucson VA Medical Center; ongoing assignments will be near the volunteer's residence. The flexible schedule averages 1-4 hours per week.

Southern Arizona VA Health Care System Fisher House
The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) Fisher House located on the campus of the Tucson VA Medical Center provides a "home away from home" for loved ones of Veterans or Active Duty personnel receiving inpatient care from the Tucson VA.
The SAVAHCS Fisher House has 16 suites with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room, and an inviting living room.
Families/loved ones of Veterans can lodge free of charge for as long as the Veteran is hospitalized based on availability.
To be eligible to stay at a Fisher House, family members must live at least 50 miles away from the VA campus and must be capable of self-care.
Referrals are normally completed by your social worker or medical provider.
