The Wilmington VA will be hosting a presentation on information regarding eligibility, claims, PACT Act, women's health, homeless services, patient advocate and much more.
Doors open at 4:30pm and leadership to speak at 5:00pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
Time will be provided for all Veterans, their families, and caregivers in attendance for Q & A.

One-on-One Assistance Available for MyHealtheVet Login Changes

As an enhanced measure to protect your privacy and security, VA is updating the AccessVA log in procedure. In 2025, you’ll have two secure sign-in account options, Login.gov and ID.me, for all VA websites and apps.

The MyHealtheVet sign in option will now be removed after March 4, 2025. You’ll still be able to access your personalized dashboard—you’ll just need to sign in to it with a Login.gov or ID.me account.

If you are Veteran who needs one-on-one assistance, there will be a VA representative at the following time and locations:

Using VA Health Connect, Wilmington VA Veterans can call 855-679-0952 to access VA's virtual health care services 24/7 wherever you need it. You can talk to a nurse about your symptoms, meet virtually with a medical provider, refill and renew your medications, manage your primary care appointments, and access tele-emergency care if needed.

VAFit Program

Introducing the VAFit program! This is a virtual VA-sponsored exercise and wellness program specifically designed to help Veterans improve their overall health through exercise. VAFit is a free program offered to eligible Veterans of all ages and abilities.

This program is led by experienced and skilled physical therapists and occupational therapists to promote safety, functional fitness, and effective carryover of skills.

To participate, a referral from your provider is needed.

In the beginning of March, Mailed Fecal Immunochemical Test (MailedFIT) are coming soon to the home of Veterans aged 45-75! VA expands access to GI Bill benefits for Veterans who served multiple periods of service

The Department of Veterans Affairs announced that — following the 2024 Rudisill Supreme Court decision — it has updated the process for awarding GI Bill benefits. This change means that many Veterans who served multiple periods of military service (for example, Veterans who reenlisted) will be eligible for up to an additional 12 months of education benefits.

Pharmacogenomics

Join us on the first Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. on teams to learn how a one-time blood test empowers you to actively participate in your personalized treatment journey. Pharmacogenomics (PGx) looks at your genes to reveal how your body reacts to specific medications. It allows your provider to tailor your medications and therapies for maximum effect and minimum side effects.

PACT Act Section 103 Health Care Eligibility

All Veterans who meet the basic service and discharge requirements and who were exposed to toxins and other hazards while serving our country—at home or abroad—can enroll directly in VA care under the PACT Act. Specifically, this applies to three new cohorts:

St. John’s Lodge No 2 donated toiletries, socks, pajama’s and $500 to Wilmington VA Volunteer Services on Jan 17. These items will go to Veterans in need and the monetary gift will support the Veteran’s coffee lounge

This year is the 75th anniversary of the Wilmington VA Medical Center! Mark your calendars to visit the Wilmington VA Medical Center on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be fun activities for the whole family including facility guided tours, claims clinic and enrollment.
