We’re proud to announce that VA Providence has achieved a 5-star score on our Patient Survey Rating!
This top rating reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional care and ensuring a positive experience for every Veteran we serve. The survey, completed by recently discharged patients, measures key aspects of their care—like communication with nurses and doctors, staff responsiveness, and the cleanliness and quietness of our environment.
A huge thank you to Chief of Patient Services Kristine Dominque and the entire team for their dedication and hard work that made this achievement possible. And thank you to our Veterans for your invaluable feedback.
The HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) star ratings summarize patient experience, which is one aspect of hospital quality. VA Providence is the only hospital in Rhode Island with a 5-star Patient Survey Rating.
As we honor National Family Caregiver Support Month, VA Providence recognizes the vital role caregivers play in the lives of our Veterans. This November, we’re celebrating these dedicated individuals who provide invaluable support to loved ones, enhancing their quality of life and ensuring their well-being. We invite you to learn more about our special activities this month by visiting our website’s events page or by reaching out to the VA Providence Caregiver Support Program. For more information, please email VHAPROGeneralCaregiverSupportProgram@va.gov or call (401) 273-7100, extension 14308/13408. Join us in showing appreciation for our caregivers, the unsung heroes of the Veteran community!
Veterans enrolled with the VA Providence Healthcare System must be seen at least once every two-years to maintain an active enrollment for VA care. One way to do that is to schedule a Veteran Video Connect (VVC) appointment with one of our VA Primary Care providers. This step is crucial to maintaining your eligibility for various VA healthcare benefits.
This will not impact your compensation and pension benefits from the Veterans Benefits Administration.
- Prescriptions and VA pharmacy services
- Care through community providers (if you meet specific criteria)
- Emergency care services in the community
- Urgent care through participating community urgent care facilities.
