Theresa Alcazar was selected as the VA Long Beach Healthcare System facility Peer Specialist of the Year.
Theresa is assigned to the Mental Health Program/Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program and goes above and beyond to serve our Veterans. She assists multiple groups and is a contributor to the WOVEN program for women and connects women Veterans with fly fishing trips. In addition to her one-on-one peer mentoring duties, Theresa takes the lead on peer outreach events and educating Veterans and staff on the role and services. Congratulations Theresa!

In partnership with Department of Labor, who has oversight of Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT), VA is offering a 45-minute virtual Overview of VA Benefits and Services workshop. This is a comprehensive overview of benefits and services provided by VA.

- How to access the benefits you've earned
- Key benefit considerations
- How to connect with VA

Calling all Veterans: The Veteran Social Connection (VSC) provides Veterans with an opportunity to meet and socialize in a safe environment. The VSC is also designed to highlight key programs and offerings at VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The VSC is held on the last Friday of each month from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on the Patriot Café Patio. Come by on Friday, June 28!
 Please join the Veterans Appreciation Committee for a fun sidewalk chalk art event on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. We'll be at the Main Entrance of Bldg 126 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in honor of 4th of July! Chalk will be provided. Please bring your creativity, kindness and a friend or two!
