Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Join us in celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. On behalf of the National Center for PTSD, we thank you for your service.
We encourage you to visit AboutFace to discover true stories from Veterans who experience cultural differences. Born to a Buddhist family, Michael Nguyen discovered that his cultural traditions could work hand in hand with evidence-based treatments for PTSD.
Nguyen shares that mental health is not often an open conversation in Asian culture. However, he learned how to seek treatment once he became truthful with himself and began to further embrace his cultural identity.
