Duane Stokes and Liliana Flores of CDCE delivering coffee and refreshments to volunteers at Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center for Volunteer Appreciation Week.
Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center Center for Development & Civic Engagement (CDCE) delivers coffee and refreshments, putting in more than 10,000 steps throughout the facility to personally thank our volunteers for their dedication to our Veterans as we celebrate Volunteer Recognition Week.
Each year, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) CDCE joins the Nation to observe and celebrate National Volunteer Week. During this time, VA formally recognizes and honors the profound impact and contributions of VA volunteers for their service to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors. In Fiscal Year 2023, 25,403 active volunteers contributed more than 3.2 million hours of service to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors at VA medical facilities across the country. Additionally, these individuals, along with community partners generously donated more than $81.1 million to VA, supporting critical programs and essential services that have a lasting and positive impact on Veterans. Throughout National Volunteer Week, VA awards and recognizes volunteers for their service, honoring the dedication of our country’s most committed volunteers, and highlights their achievements to encourage more Americans to volunteer. Thank you VA Long Beach Healthcare System volunteers!
