At the 2023 VHA Innovation Experience, Diffusion Summit highlighted the hard work of frontline innovators as they shared their experiences implementing practices at new VA facilities. The event, held at VHA Innovation Experience, celebrated 10 winning practices from last year’s VHA Shark Tank Competition that collectively replicated at 16 new VA facilities—setting the stage for continued innovation in VA.
During Diffusion Summit, innovators recounted their years, presenting initial outcomes, lessons learned, successes, and future goals. At the event’s conclusion, Diffusion Director Blake Henderson presented several awards to innovators for their outstanding efforts during the implementation process.
Diffusion Summit marked new beginnings for the practices and their innovators, with the announcement of each practice’s Diffusion Pathway. Diffusion hand-selects practices for one of three designated Diffusion Pathways: Organic Diffusion, Initial Diffusion, or National Diffusion. Each practice’s pathway is selected based on their unique needs and what will best prepare them to succeed.
