COVID-19 Vaccine Booster
The Madison VA Hospital and Clinics now offer updated Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for the 2023-2024 season, which target recent COVID-19 strains. Due to changes in the virus, it is important to get the updated vaccine as soon as you are eligible. Schedule an appointment with your primary care provider or by calling 608-280-2160.
Updated COVID-19 Shot Eligibility
The CDC recently issued the following updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine recommendations:
- Adults should receive one updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose if it’s been at least two months since receiving any older COVID-19 vaccine or if you haven't.
- Anyone who has not yet received any COVID-19 vaccine should receive an updated COVID-19 vaccine.
Those with moderately to severely immunocompromising conditions may receive additional updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 doses if recommended by their provider.
Non-VA COVID-19 Vaccines
You can receive your updated shot at no cost outside of VA. Locate a vaccine site at Vaccines.gov and take your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card when you go.

Influenza Vaccines
Seasonal influenza vaccines are available and you can received it at the same time as the COVID-19 Vaccine. We encourage you to call 608-280-2160 to get scheduled.
