Program Description:
This live knowledge-based virtual presentation contains an overview of medical co-morbidity and related mortality among individuals living with a serious mental illness, including a review of the range of individual, provider and systems level causes associated with this problem. The presentation will also focus on the development, content, and intervention strategies of a group-based intervention called LIVING WELL to support the health and wellness of adults living with serious mental illness and a co-occurring medical condition. Finally, the presentation summarizes results from a randomized controlled trial comparing Living Well to an active control condition and lays out next steps for future investigation and dissemination. This presentation is appropriate for interprofessional healthcare team members.
