A new law called the PACT Act just expanded VA health care and benefits for millions of Veterans and their survivors.

Do you have questions about the new health care or compensation benefits you may be entitled to? We have the answers!

Join us for our PACT Act Awareness Open House in St. George, Utah. We’ll answer your PACT Act questions, help you enroll in VA care, help you apply for VA benefits, and more. It’s easy, just bring your DD214 and leave the rest to VA!

If you or your loved one served during the Vietnam War, Gulf War era, or post 9/11, your VA eligibility may have increased. All Veterans are invited to learn more about what VA offers and how to access these earned resources. If you know other Veterans or survivors who may be eligible, please share with them!

PACT Act Special Health Care Enrollment

Six months left of the PACT Act special health care enrollment period

With the passage of the 2022 PACT Act, certain Post-9/11 Veterans are eligible for expanded VA benefits. Help spread the word to your fellow Veterans and encourage them to enroll in VA health care before the one-year special enrollment period that began on October 1, 2022, ends.

To enroll, a Veteran must have:

  • Served on active duty in a theater of combat operations during a period of war after the Persian Gulf War, or
  • Served in combat against a hostile force during a period of hostilities after November 11, 1998

And the Veteran must have:

  • Been discharged or released between September 11, 2001, and October 1, 2013, and
  • Not previously enrolled in VA health care

The PACT Act empowers VA to deliver benefits to Veterans suffering from more than 20 toxic-exposure conditions. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Today, Veterans, volunteers and staff gathered at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center to show that the VA stands with survivors.

Healing after military sexual trauma (MST) takes time — but it’s never too late to seek support. Meet our team here at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System committed to you. American Indian and Alaska Native Copayment Exemption

VA is now exempting eligible American Indian and Alaska Native Veterans from copayments for health care and all urgent care visits. Learn if you are eligible and how to receive the benefit.

Joining your VA Video Connect (VVC)* appointment with your VA provider has become easier.

In addition to the email or text invitations from your VA provider, you can also join your VVC appointments through the following options:

  1. Log into MyHealtheVet’s web portal and select the Appointments section.
  2. Download the VA Health and Benefits mobile app directly from the Apple Store, Google Play Store or the VA app store. Once you are signed into the app, go to the Health care section to find your next scheduled VVC appointment.

*VA Video Connect (VVC) is the VA’s secure video conferencing platform connecting you and your caregiver with your VA provider from your home or a non-VA facility.
