VA Community Living Centers
An Option for Veterans
A Community Living Center (CLC) is a VA Nursing Home. There are over 100 locations across the country. Veterans stay in a CLC for a short time, or, in rare cases, for the rest of their lives.
Home-like Feel
Unlike many nursing homes in the past, a CLC resembles “home” as much as possible. Community Living Centers have:
- Activities for Veterans of all ages
- Family friendly places for visits
- Options for pets to visit or live in the CLC
Services Provided
All CLCs provide these services:
- 24-hour skilled nursing care
- Restorative care
- Access to social work services
