New Clinic Serves all Veterans with PTSD
VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) has expanded services for Veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Its Combat Stress Recovery Clinic is now the Trauma Recovery Clinic (TRC). The TRC serves all Veterans with PTSD symptoms due to traumatic events at any point in their lives, even if not related to military service.
All Veterans will have greater and more efficient access to specialty care for PTSD, including expanded options for group therapy.
TRC serves Veterans:
- With mental health symptoms related to trauma at any time in their lives (childhood, military, pre- and post-military).
- Who experienced sexual assault, natural disasters, accidents, childhood abuse, military sexual trauma, combat, etc. The trauma does not have to be related to military service or service connected.
To request a TRC consult, talk with your VAPHS primary care provider.
