Dear Veteran,
Our VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center team invites all Veterans enrolled for care across VISN 8 in south Georgia, most of Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to contact us for virtual urgent care and services. The Clinical Contact Center was formed three years ago to meet your needs around the clock.
Today, we announce the expansion of our medical provider team as we welcome Dr. Amy Pound (pictured left) and Dr. Natalie Evers (pictured right). They will provide medical care overnight beginning on Monday, August 15, at Midnight creating access to care in a truly 24/7/365 virtual care organization. What this means is, no matter what time or type of day you call (weekday, weekend, holiday), a medical provider will be a partner within our multi-disciplinary team to meet your needs.
You are the focus of our dedicated team’s work with Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Advanced Medical Support Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians collaborating to meet your needs and expectations. If you are not feeling well at home, at work, or while travelling, by calling the VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center at our toll-free number, 1-877-741-3400, and being triaged by a Registered Nurse and having a virtual visit by telephone or video with a Nurse Practitioner or Physician if needed, you can quickly have your care needs addressed. The VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center team even has the capability to provide you with an urgent first fill of medications at community pharmacies in your hometown and across the country when it is related to a virtual urgent care visit or can coordinate pick up or mailing of medications from your VA Medical Center. Plus, your treatment is documented in your VA electronic medical record and is available to your home VA care team.
If you are experiencing respiratory concerns or COVID symptoms, we encourage you to reach out to us through our toll-free number. We have the capability to care for you while you are at home or away travelling. There is a new medication available for the early (less than 5 days from onset) treatment of COVID, and it can be prescribed by VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center medical providers.
Please know that the VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center should not be used for emergency situations. You can review the VA Facility Locator for information about urgent care and emergency departments in your area. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911 or visit the closest emergency department.
If your condition is not emergent and does not require a face-to-face visit, we encourage you to give virtual urgent care through the VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center a try from the comfort of your home, while at work, or during your travels.
It is a privilege to honor you and your service to our Nation with high quality care and services through the VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center.
