VHA’s improved Access to Care website has launched, providing Veterans and their caregivers with a clearer view of average wait times within VA facilities. It also provides more detailed information on available health care services and specialties. The Veterans Crisis Line (VCL), which provides 24/7, confidential crisis support for Veterans can now be accessed by dialing 988, then Pressing 1. The number may be new, but the crisis line’s dedicated, caring, qualified responders will continue to listen and help. A Veteran does not have to be enrolled in VA benefits or health care to connect.
Veterans can still call 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1 to connect with responders or reach the VCL by chat (VeteransCrisisLine.net/Chat) and text (838255). More information is available here. Please share this important information with your Veteran patients, staff, and community!

Live Webinar: Inclusive Care: Integrating Caregivers as Partners in Care 1 - 2 p.m. EST; Aug. 25, 2022 ID: 1105169
Caregivers play a critical role supporting Veterans. They may be the first to notice changes in behavior or needs and often are the most trusted person in a Veteran’s life.
VA’s Leah Christensen, Clinical Program Coordinator, will discuss caregivers’ critical role in care of the Veteran and the benefits of practicing inclusive care. Updates on current findings from the Campaign for Inclusive Care and the spread of this practice across health care will be provided. Participants will receive one (1) credit hour.
