The Veterans Affairs (VA) 'My Life, My Story' program encourages Veterans to share their life experiences with their health care support team. Veterans’ health care providers will add this to a beneficiary’s medical record in an effort to establish a personal connection with a Veteran, and learn what’s most important to that individual.

Members of the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) 'My Life, My Story' program team will write a Veteran's story as they tell it, and upon completion will add this to the Veteran’s medical record and provide a copy to the Veteran. 

Research suggests when health care providers know their patients well, they’re able to provide even better care and beneficiaries have even better outcomes.
