Dear Veteran, With the holidays upon us, the best way to keep you and your family safe is to get the COVID-19 booster shot. If it's been at least six months since you completed the initial vaccine series (Pfizer or Moderna), you can get the booster, as can your spouse, caregiver and family members. If you initially received the Johnson & Johnson shot, you can get the booster after two months. To get an appointment for your booster, call 414-384-2000, ext. 49069. All shots are given in the ZIHP/Quick Shot clinic in Building 70, which is located west of the Milwaukee VA hospital. When arriving, don't park in the visitor parking for the hospital; instead there is dedicated parking for the clinic in the circle drive in front of Building 70 (follow the signs). Booster shots are also available in the community. If you get your shot outside the VA, please let us know by calling your VA health care team or through a secure message using MyHealtheVet. “Do this to protect yourself and your family, so you can have a safe holiday season and help us all to get past the COVID pandemic and back to a more normal life," said Milwaukee VA Chief of Staff Dr. Michael Erdmann. Thank you for trusting Milwaukee VA with your care. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for your service. |
