Looking to get your COVID-19 Pfizer Booster shot? You can get the booster shot along with your flu shot at one of our VA sites of care listed below. Currently, only the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has been authorized as a booster shot. FDA and CDC continue to review data to determine whether and when a booster might be recommended for people who received the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson (J&J/Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine(s). Who can get a Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine booster shot at VA? Individuals who received both doses of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine more than 6 months ago and fall into one of the following categories:
Individuals with the following underlying health conditions are eligible to get a booster shot:
We will offer the Pfizer-BioNTech booster vaccines to Veterans receiving care at VA and VA employees, and all other Veterans, spouses, caregivers and CHAMPVA recipients under the authority of the SAVE LIVES Act, as supply and capacity permits. How do I schedule an appointment? You can request an appointment at 407-631-0499 for your Pfizer booster shot whether you received your initial series at VA or outside of VA. Please note that there must be a minimum interval of six months between the second dose of your initial Pfizer series and your Pfizer booster dose. Please make sure to bring your CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card! This is particularly important if your initial series was given outside of VA. Appointments are strongly encouraged but walk-ins will be honored as capacity and vaccine supply allows. The Pfizer booster shot is currently only available at the clinics listed below. Orlando VA Medical Center-Lake Nona: 4th Floor Auditorium Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments and walk-ins. Pfizer vaccine. Please note Mondays are by appointment only. Lake Baldwin VA Medical Center: Auditorium B Monday -Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments and walk-ins for 1st and 2nd doses. Pfizer Vaccine. Third doses by appointment only. Viera VA Health Care Center: Conference Room F535 Pfizer Thursdays ONLY 8:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. by appointment. We will honor same day walk-ins if there is capacity and vaccine supply available. 1st and 2nd dose appointments for Moderna still available Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Daytona Beach VA Multispecialty CBOC: Room 182 Pfizer Thursday ONLY 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. by appointment. We will honor same day walk-ins if there is capacity and vaccine supply available. 1st and 2nd dose appointments for Moderna still available Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8:30 a.m. -12 p.m. by appointment. What if I receive my booster shot or third dose outside of VA? If you decide to receive your booster shot or third dose outside of VA, we encourage you to share this information with your Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) at your next VA appointment or via secure message using MyHealtheVet. Can I get the flu shot at the same appointment as my COVID-19 vaccine? Yes! Flu vaccines are recommended for everyone and can be given during your same visit for COVID-19 vaccination. VA can only provide flu vaccines to employees, Veterans and those who qualify for VA Healthcare Benefits.
