Dear Veteran Family I've got a few things to share with you regarding Vaccinations and some upcoming events. If you were vaccinated outside the VA...If you were vaccinated outside the VA, please call your primary care team to ensure we have that in your records. We need to know the Veteran's Name, Last 4, Which Vaccine, and Date(s) of administration. You can also provide this information on MyHealtheVet Colorado Comeback LotteryPlease note that the Cheyenne VA is assisting our Veterans with the Colorado Comeback Lottery for our Colorado Veterans and families. If a Veteran received their COVID vaccine through the VA, we have assigned them a random number for each drawing, and provided that number to the Colorado Lottery. If a Veteran's number is picked, the Lottery commission will reach out to the VA, who will identify the Veteran; call the Veteran to see if they wish to participate; and have the Veteran fill out a Privacy Form. The VA has not, nor will not provide any medical information to anyone without written consent. How to Hack your HealthcareI will be hosting a Facebook Live event on Tuesday, June 15 at 5 p.m. called How to Hack your Healthcare. The goal is to provide some insight on how to get the most out of the VA Health Care System. This is a good orientation for those who are new to the VA, as well as those who have been around awhile. Telephone Town HallWe will be calling to invite you to participate in our telephone Town Hall for Veterans, Caregivers, and Family members that is taking place on Thursday, June 17th from 5:00-6:00pm. If for any reason, you do not receive a call from us around that time, you may also dial in to participate by calling 833-380-0708. Clothing Allowance--DeadlineA Veteran who wears or uses a prescribed prosthetic, orthopedic appliance, and/or skin medication for a service connected disability may be eligible for an annual clothing allowance. To be entitled, the prosthetic, orthopedic appliance must cause wear / tear; skin medication must cause irreparable staining to your outer garments. If you feel you are eligible for the clothing allowance, please fill out the form, and submit it to our Prosthetics department. If you have questions, please call Joel at 307-778-7550, ext. 7305, or email him at joel.humphreys2@va.gov. Cashier HoursDue to staffing issues, the Agent Cashier's office will only be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. If you have questions or need assistance outside those hours, please call 307-778-7550 ext. 7059. Hoping everyone stays safe and cool throughout the summer! As always, if you have questions, please feel free to give me a call at 307-778-7523 or drop me a line at samuel.house2@va.gov Sam |
