Resumption of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine at VA Long Beach

VA Long Beach HCS has resumed use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine. The FDA and CDC have confidence that this vaccine is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19. Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine appointments are available by appointment only at the Santa Ana CBOC starting May 12. Interested Veterans may call the COVID Vaccine Call Center at (562) 826-5300 to schedule an appointment.

Veterans regardless of age & enrollment status, their spouses, caregivers & some beneficiaries. MUST be at least 18 years old.

Walk-Ins and the SAVE Lives Act

Moderna vaccine appointments and walk-ins are currently available
at the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center located in Long Beach, CA. 

Recent legislation signed into law by President Biden now allows the VA to vaccinate all Veterans, enrolled or not in VA health care, Veteran spouses, Veteran caregivers, as well as Veteran beneficiaries enrolled in the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA) program be vaccinated.

Outpatient COVID vaccinations are currently occurring in the Bldg. 165, Learning Center Auditorium, best known as the "Egg."

Veterans can hear updates on VA Long Beach’s vaccine status by calling the COVID Vaccine hotline at 562-826-8000 and press 5.

Please call 562-826-5300 to schedule your appointment OR walk-in to our vaccination center (Bldg. 165, Learning Center Auditorium), Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

► Non-Enrolled Veterans, Veteran spouses, caregivers and beneficiaries under the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA) program

Please fill out the 2021 VHA SAVE LIVES Act COVID-19 Vaccination Worksheet and either:

  • Bring it to our Enrollment and Eligibility staff located in vaccination center
  • Fax it to: 562-826-8133
  • Mail it: Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center, Eligibility Office, 5901 E. 7th. St, Long Beach, CA 90822
