MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the VISN 5 MIRECC is committed to enhancing the recovery and community functioning of Veterans with serious mental illness. So, we wanted to point you to some resources that might be useful for Putting Recovery into Practice!


VA Connection Plans

The VA Connection Plans intervention is an adaptation of the highly effective Suicide Safety Plans intervention and was  designed to help older adults create a “Connection Plan” to practice behaviors that increase feelings of social connection and well-being. Visit the Connection Plans Webpage for more information, access to the Connection Plans manual, and how to join the Connection Plans Team.

The Connection Plans clinical demonstration team will be offering virtual office hours to VA providers that are using this intervention. Hours are 3rd Mondays 4pm EST, and 3rd Thursdays 12pm EST. To join via MS Teams see Training Information on the Connection Plans Webpage.
