The SAVES LIVES Act, signed into law on March 24, 2021, allows VA facilities nationwide to vaccinate Veterans, regardless of VA eligibility, their spouses and caregivers. The VA Central Ohio Healthcare System begins vaccinating unenrolled Veterans and spouses starting April 3.
Before being scheduled for the vaccine Veterans must register themselves and their spouses in person, by phone, online, or by mailing in an enrollment form. For more information about registering visit the vaccine information page on our website.
Once registration is confirmed, Veterans and their spouses may be scheduled directly either at a VA facility or by calling the Contact Center at 614-257-5200, and selecting option 2. Veterans calling the Contact Center should know that volume has increased due to COVID vaccine scheduling requests.
In addition to changes brought on by the SAVES LIVES Act, we continue vaccinating enrolled Veterans who all now are eligible to receive the vaccine from the Columbus VA regardless of age or health condition.
We encourage enrolled Veterans to vaccine appointments through their primary care teams or call the Contact Center at 614-257-5200, and select option 2.
