COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Alert A COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for enrolled veterans 50 and older, and those with comorbidities, Thursday (walk-in clinic) from 8 – 11 am, Saturday from 1 - 3 pm, and Sunday 8 am - 1:30 pm in Primary Care, building 341 (Southwest end of Dayton VA Healthcare complex.) Veterans are encouraged to schedule an appointment. Please call (937) 268-6511, option 8 or extension 4067. Wait time might be lengthy as we accommodate those needing vaccinations. We appreciate your patience. The Dayton VA received the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine last week following the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Emergency Use Authorization for this vaccine. The Dayton VA is eager to offer a second highly effective vaccine to more Veterans. We’ve been offering the Moderna vaccine since December. The J&J/Janssen vaccine is one dose, compared to the two dose Moderna vaccine, and it will help us reach our goal of offering COVID-19 vaccination to all Veterans and employees who want to be vaccinated. We are still working on a distribution plan for the J&J/Janssen vaccine and will keep you updated. (Janssen is owned by Johnson & Johnson) The Dayton VA Medical Center continues to take proactive steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease, known as COVID-19. For your safety and for the safety of our staff and patients, if you are sick, please call your Primary Care Provider or the Medical Center at (937) 268-6511 prior to coming to any Dayton VA facility. Many appointments are being converted to virtual appointments. Please check with your provider for more information. Veterans may change their appointments to a telehealth appointment. Please call your provider to ask if this is an option. If telehealth is not available, providers may be able to do a telephone appointment. Not all appointments will be ideal for telehealth or phone call, discuss with your provider if it’s the best option for you.
