UPDATE: Hines' Current Vaccination Stratification List: (1/11/2021)
We are offering vaccinations to the following categories and calling them to set up appointments:

-- Veterans 85+ years old
-- Dialysis Patients
-- Chemotherapy Patients
-- Organ transplant Veterans
-- Homeless Veteran Program participants
-- Inpatient Spinal Cord Center
-- Community Living Center
-- Residential Care Facility (RCF)
-- Hines VA employees

We are opening a Saturday COVID-19 vaccine clinic starting Jan. 16.
As vaccines become available for more groups of Veterans, VA care teams will reach out to eligible Veterans to schedule vaccinations. There is no need to preregister or come to a facility to sign up. Visit VA's COVID-19 vaccine public-facing website for more information at https://www.va.gov/health-care/covid-19-vaccine/.

Hines VA is on limited services operating status.

Important Updates:

- Face coverings is required for all patients, vistors and staff while on Hines VA Campus. Face coverings will be provided at designated screening entrances.

- For the safety of patients, visitors and staff, the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital is changing its visitation policy for all of its heath care facilities to help to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. The VA Hospital and its six community-based VA clinics are adopting a “No Visitors” policy until further notice. Visitors will be prohibited from entering the medical center or clinics unless it is necessary for providing medical care or visiting under compassionate care circumstances, such as grave illness or imminent death of a family member under care in the facility; these visits will be limited to one individual at a time and only in the Veteran’s room. No visitors under the age of 14 will be permitted. All Veterans and visitors (meeting the above criteria) entering the campus will be pre-screened for signs of respiratory illness prior to entry. Per CDC guidance and VA protocols, individuals known to be at risk for a COVID-19 infection are immediately isolated to prevent potential spread to others.
