Program Description:

This live, virtual knowledge-based seminar will provide training for mental health staff and leaders on how to integrate mental health trainees into inpatient units to promote the transformation to a recovery-oriented model of care, while simultaneously providing trainees with essential serious mental illness (SMI) training. The training provided will be based on the presenters’ experience from the San Diego VA Interprofessional Fellowship in Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Recovery Oriented Services (“PSR Fellowship”). The PSR Fellowship provides advanced training in psychosocial rehabilitation services to trainees from multiple disciplines at VAs across the country, with fellows training at sites serving Veterans with SMI, including PRRCs, inpatient units, and MHICM teams. This training applies to interprofessional healthcare teams.
